WHAT ROLE WILL YOU TAKE
ON A TEAM?

We are currently looking for experienced talents who would like to join our R&D group and work with us to solve complex problems in a simple way!  
Your role as EM requires quality engineering experience and great management skills to guide and coach the individuals in your engineers’ teams and help them grow and develop proper skills.  

You will spend your time mostly on the following: 
– process management and technological improvements (~70%) 
– people management work (~20%) 
– recruitment and administrative tasks (~10%)

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively foster healthy teams
  • Provide personal support, onboarding and regular 1:1 meetings
  • Identify and act on opportunities to improve team efficiency and product quality
  • Take an active part in creating a technological development roadmap
  • Perform technical analysis and feasibility studies for proposed product features
  • Ensure technical feasibility of product features and drive architectural decisions
  • Determine processes and metrics to ensure products are market-ready
  • Bridge the gap between product vision and engineering execution
  • Cost tracking and management skills
  • Cooperate with Product, IT, Architecture, DevOps and CTO

OUR EXPECTATIONS

  • Have 5+ years of experience building modern web applications in a commercial environment (software development background)
  • Have 2+ years of experience in managing team and individuals: performance evaluation, facilitating meetings, guiding career paths as Team / Tech Lead or Engineering Manager
  • Knowledge and good understanding of sport rules
  • Strong knowledge of software development life cyle and delivering
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong knowledge of databases (SQL / NoSQL queries)
  • Experience in building APIs for high-availability and scalability products
  • Experience with architecture and software design patterns
  • Experience in identifying people’s needs and talents
  • Have well-balanced results and people-oriented
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and fluent in English (B2 at least)
  • Ability to create an organization that understands how to balance technical debt vs. business goals
  • Ability to work with a high level of autonomy and responsibility

WOULD BE YOUR ADVANTAGE:

  • Languages including PHP or TypeScript
  • Experience with AMQP (RabbitMq), Postman, Redis, cache services
  • Understanding of service-to-service dependencies in architecture
  • Ability to identify and mitigate coupling, performance bottlenecks, and failure propagation risks

HOW DO WE WORK?

We work in self-organizing Scrum teams. Test writing and code refactoring is our daily bread.  We are taking care of the technological debt and the quality of the code. We plan our Sprint goals every 2 weeks, and use OKR’s in every quarter planning. We speak both Polish (internally) and English (with our partners). We work in hybrid mode with flexible hours, from home or from the office in Katowice (no dress code).

RECRUITMENT PROCESS

The entire process will take up to 2.5 hours::

  • Screening – video call with Recruiter (30 min.)
  • Interview with HR Manager and Hiring Manager on-site meeting (60 min.) 
  • Final interview with Hiring Manager and CTO on-site meeting (60 min.)
