Driving affiliate value with next-gen sports data: interview with Mateusz, our Director of Customer Success

The affiliate market is undergoing a significant evolution. As traditional ads are losing their effectiveness and sports fans demand deeper value, publishers must embrace a more interactive, data-driven approach.

Following STATSCORE’s major strategic partnership with digital publishing powerhouse Kingbet Media, we sat down with Mateusz Kupiec, Director of Customer Success at STATSCORE, to discuss how sports data is redefining the industry.

STATSCORE has just partnered with Kingbet Media, one of the major players in the affiliate market. From a big-picture perspective, why are affiliates increasingly more interested in the sports data product that we are offering?

Affiliate websites know that traditional banner ads just aren’t cutting it anymore. Sports fans have developed total ad blindness, and they want real value before they place a bet.

That’s where STATSCORE comes in. We’re transforming standard sports content into ‘infotainment’ by embedding real-time data, live trackers, and dynamic widgets directly into the user journey.

We help affiliates build trust, keep fans on their pages longer, and seamlessly turn sports coverage into a high-converting revenue engine. It’s that simple.

When we onboard a large-scale partner, they’re rolling out a lot of our flagship products at once. For example, Kigbet Media is employing our widgets (LivematchPro), feed (SportsAPI), a complete data hub (CupCenter), and our gamification solution (PointsInPlay). How do we ensure they get maximum value from these solutions?

No media company or sports-dedicated website wants to drag its developers away from key projects for months just to build custom sports data integrations. Our approach is to make things completely effortless for them. Our widgets are plug-and-play, literally copying and pasting a short script. 

But we don’t just hand over the tech and walk away. Our customer success and technical teams work closely with the partner to ensure the data feeds integrate smoothly with their specific layout and setup. We handle the heavy lifting so they can focus on content and conversions, which are the basis of the affiliate operations.

One of the products that can be successfully employed by affiliates is PointsInPlay, our gamification platform. In a market focused so heavily on instant conversions, why should affiliates invest in gamification, and what does it actually bring to their business?

It really comes down to changing user behavior. Most affiliate traffic is strictly transactional: a user checks a tip, maybe clicks a link, and leaves to place a bet on a sportsbook’s website. It essentially turns a standard sports article into a direct, high-converting revenue stream.

At the end of the day, commercial partnerships live and die by the numbers. Looking down the road, how will we know that this focus on the affiliate sector is truly paying off for both STATSCORE and our clients?

Uptime and fast data are just the baseline expectations. Real success is measured by the client’s bottom line. We look at engagement metrics like time-on-page and click-through rates. When our products make users move from affiliate websites to sportsbooks’ offers, that’s the ultimate win.
