NBA FINAL 2019

Game 1

The home team won the first match 118 – 109. Their advantage in this opening match was the difference in fast break points, 24 – 17 and they were also the better under the rim, scoring 8 points more than the away team, although the Golden State Warriors had 5 more rebounds.

A great game played by Pascal Siakam, his stats were 32 pts/8 reb/5 ast and 82% from field goals.
For the away team Stephen Curry was amazing, his stats read 34 pts/5 reb/5 ast and 14/14 for free throws.

Game 2

Golden State Warriors achieved their goal. They took away the home advantage from Toronto and went on to win the game 109 -104. They were a lot better as a team and ended with 34 assists, that’s twice as many as the Toronto Raptors. The Warriors were better with their field goal percentage, 46.3% to 37.2% for the Raptors

This time Kawhi Leonard took over the staring role with 34 pts/14 reb/3 ast plus 16/16 for free throws.
The Splash Brothers (S. Curry and K. Thompson) were on fire and scored 48points.

Game 3

The Raptors dominated this game and did not lose a single quarter. The game ended 123 – 109 and for sure they had the better chemistry, more assists and were better on field goal percentage, 52.4% to 39.6 for the Warriors.

6 of the Toronto players’ scored double digits, and the best stats in the team, like almost always, came from Leonard, 30 pts/7 reb/6 ast
Stephen Curry in the absence of Kley Thompson and Kevin Durant took a stand and finished with 47 pts/8 reb/7 ast. Still, that was not enough for the Raptors team.

Game 4

Nobody expected that Toronto would win two matches at the Oracle Arena and yet it happened, 105 – 92. The Raptors controlled the match and destroy the opposition in the 3rd quarter by 37 – 16. They maintained the lead, had 8 fewer turnovers and 6 more steals than their competitors.

Leonard finished with 11-22 FG, 5-9 3PT and 9-9 FT and was indestructible in defense.
The Splash Brothers again attacked and this time they scored 55points. Unfortunately, again this was not enough to beat the Toronto game plan

Game 5

Everybody was prepared to celebrate the Raptors first NBA title, but the Warriors won a very close game 106 – 105. Durant returned after a long break from injury, but maybe it was too soon? The worst possible scenario happened and he snapped his Achilles. Kevin will not be able to play for the next 10 months. Human drama…
Golden State again showed how good they can be on field goal percentage and also had better team chemistry with 8 more assists than their opponents.

The best home team stats again coming from Kahwi Leonard, 26 pts/12 reb/6 ast
Curry and Thompson combined for 57pts, 12-27 3pt.

Game 6

So Toronto! Nobody expected that the Raptors would win the final series 4-2 against the Golden State Warriors. The last game of the season ended 114 – 110 for the city where the NBA was born. The main reason they came out on top in this game was due to fewer turnovers and a better free throw percentage.

Pascal Siakam came back to his very best for the last game of the season, 26 pts/10 reb and Kyle Lowry finished with 26 pts/7 reb/10 ast
We can’t forget about Fred VanVleet, who added 22pts, hitting 5, 3 pointers

Kawhi Leonard received MVP title for the finals and this was fully deserved. Effective in the attacking half, unbreakable in the defensive half. He is called a Claw not without reason.

And who from the ex-champions deserved some recognition? The disliked Draymond Green, who batted on the floor in every match, fought for every ball and scored 3-points at key moments.

At the end of this season, let’s keep our fingers crossed for the injured players of GSW – Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant. For most players, victory is worth much more than their own health. They are real fighters!

That’s all folks!
