3 biggest mistakes made by every bookie
If you’re running any type of business, you are probably aware that it’s all but impossible not to make some mistakes along the way. Still, it’s always cheaper to learn from blunders made by somebody else. So what are some of the most serious errors made by bookmakers? Find out with STATSCORE.
1. Good bets are hard to find
Managing hundreds of games from tens of different disciplines every single day, many of them taking place simultaneously… that’s one of the things that prove to be challenging for many betting organisations. It’s so easy to make a mistake here!
One of the most common problems consists in the failure to present the most updated offer on the website – with the games starting and finishing all around the clock, some bookies fail to provide their clients with the most up-to-date offer.
Not highlighting the events that would be the most interesting ones for potential players is another issue here. This includes, for example, not showing the most attractive football games on the main page, which translates into lower number of bets being placed by clients.
You simply can’t afford to ignore the most followed sports or teams, or your customers will start ignoring you!
2. Not attracting new target groups
There’s no denying that there’s a lot of competition out there between betting organisations. What sets apart the most successful ones? Well, they are certainly more effective in attracting various groups of players with a range of well thought-through actions.
One of the ways of achieving this goal is to make use of affiliate programs. This type of partnership, entered into with, for example, unofficial club websites, allows a betting organisation to generate more traffic to their website. Moreover, it enables bookmakers to effectively target some of the most desired groups of customers, namely the most eager fans who are more than willing to place bets on their team’s victories. The companies that fail to recognise that opportunity are losing their chance to win valuable groups of clients!
The engagement of a specific team or league fans may be boosted even further with the use of tools such as STATSCORE’s TeamCenter.
3. Inability to provide the highest-quality experience for players
Whether a betting organisation is successful or not depends, to a large extent, on its ability to keep the audience engaged and entertained. This applies to the customer experience both before and during a game, and requires employing professional tools to provide them with relevant stats and real-time data.
Betting organisations that fail to provide users with attracting and exciting visual experience are not able to encourage them to place more bets, and are losing the harsh competition with those that are more aware of their players’ needs.
It’s not surprising then that betting websites are turning to sophisticated solutions, such as STATSCORE’s PrematchPro and LivematchPro widgets, which turn out to be incredibly effective at capturing and maintaining users’ attention.
